Myofascial Release at Healing Kneads

Myofascial Release is a soft tissue therapy that addresses the pain and restriction of movement. Myofascial restrictions can be caused by disease, local inflammation, traumas including a car accident that is recent or years old, overused muscles and repetitive movements that is required by your job, or hobbies, sports injuries new or old, surgical scars and old scar tissue, jaw pain, headaches and migraines. The medical term Myofascial was used to refer to musculoskeletal pain syndrome and trigger points. Myo (muscle) fascia (connective tissue) restriction can produce rigid strength of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch. Irritation of muscle or fascia causes inflammation and pain to sensitive areas of your body. Chronic inflammation results in fibrosis or a thickening of the connective tissue and this thickening causes pain, muscle tightness, and even inactivity due to the pain. Doctors can’t diagnosis Myofascial restrictions even when tests like X-ray, CAT scan or MRI are employed. The increased restriction is caused by the increase in the fascia thickness that covers our muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, and organs. The body keeps sending a signal to the brain to increase the fascia to increase support to your muscles and in turn this starts the pain cycle loop and increase stiff painful muscle tightness. If you want to see and feel fascia you can find it on chicken breast. It appears as a thin silvery/clear covering but when you try to remove it is extremely tough because of the unyielding strength of the fascia.
